!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!   The !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! at Sebring is April 6 th at 8 :00 PM EDT. If you’d like to learn more about the series, click the link and get all the info. Or, if you’ve already read the plan but haven’t signed up yet, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

If you’re not racing with us, many of us stream the races on twitch, the links for which are in the livestream list linked above.

Also, instead of using parties or gamechat, we are going to be using the Oppositelock Racing/Digital Burnouts Discord to communicate during the races. If for some reason we are not using the app or it fails, we will be using gamechat to communicate, and hoping for the best. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

Time for a quick turnaround! A massive thanks to SFM Darkzer for being flexible with scheduling and allowing this to run in a primetime slot. So those of you in odd timezones may hopefully be able to race in this round. Weather voting is live and part of the sign up for the round.   If you have a new car or livery, feel free to !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

BUILD RULES HAVE BEEN FINALIZED! !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Buils are identical to the previous round at the moment, and likely to stay that way unless a major issue crops up. As before,   THE 1993 TOYOTA EAGLE MK III HAS REQUIRED TUNING SETTINGS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. THE REQUIRED SETTINGS ARE ON THE BUILD SHEET. Namely, there is a maximum amount of aero you are allowed to run. This was done because the only way to get the Toyota on pace with open tuning was to severly limit its power to the point of it being unsafe in traffic. While it is largely honors system for enforcement, I and everyone else will know if you’re running too much aero. Please don’t try and break this ruling and gain an advantage. If you do that, you’ve missed the point of these events entirely. Also, since the fuel capacities of every car are very similar, there will be no required pit stops for either class.

That’s it for now! Keep an eye on the Discord for any practice sessions or other racing.

Do people use a wheel in this or just a controller? Mix?

A mix of both. I use a wheel myself. But you’ll see people doing both.

Did you pick up time with a wheel/pedal combo?

I did, but a lot of people don't. Generally, controllers are 1-2 seconds faster than a wheel. However, practice enough on a wheel and you can match or beat controller times. At the end of the day though, a wheel cannout match the absolute fastest possible times set by controllers, though at that point you're talking top tier eSports times, and most of us aren't at that pace. So to answer your question, you pick up the most pace in whatever you are most comfortable with and have spent the most time on. For me, that was a wheel. Others, a controller. Personally I'd recommend a wheel because its more fun and you can save fuel and tires a lot easier.

Huh. I would have thought it would have been reversed. With a controller you are limited in the steering input, too much or too little. At least I am always finding it is bursts of max steering angle. I would have thought with a wheel you could get much better steering angle input control.

You do get better control and you can be a lot smoother. Thing is, Forzas physics arent really that accurate to irl and the game rewards quick steering and aggressive driving. Only place where that smoothness gains you an advantage is on an oval, in which case wheels are mostly faster, though you can still be beat by a controller. Games with better physics obviously reward a wheel more, like PCars. You can definitely be competitive on a wheel in Forza, but its much harder to meet the absolute fastest possible time. But for 99% of us, we will never be at that level of eSports pace, so like I said it just comes down to which you prefer. Unless you're are secretly winning all the Forza eSports right now lmao.
